Led community design projects to improve outcomes for communities by closing the gap between communities’ needs and nonprofits’ goals. Projects used human-centered design to increase food access for kids and older adults, improving subsidized housing conditions, and design more effective neighborhood development. Trained neighbors in community-led research methods and analysis. Led the organization’s communications strategy and execution for all major publications, social media, and marketing.
Asianati, Co-Editor and Board Committee Lead
January 2021 - December 2023
Led community initiatives and events to celebrate Cincinnati’s local Asian American culture, food, and community. Mentored emerging AAPI leaders, launched a citywide campaign to promote AAPI Heritage Month, and helped pass the City of Cincinnati's first resolution declaring May as Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
Second Sunday on Main, Festival Organizer
January 2014 - October 2015
Produced a neighborhood street festival in the U.S.’ largest historic neighborhood. Increased the festival’s visibility, revenue, and sponsorships while keeping the festival accessible and welcoming to new and long-time neighbors. Oversaw all aspects of the festival, including operations, vendors, marketing, and programming for three stages. Worked with the local Chamber of Commerce, residents, community partners, and independent business owners.
ArtWorks, Creative Enterprise Manager
July 2012 - October 2015
Managed entrepreneurship programs for artists and creatives, including a business development course, professional development workshops, and the organization’s first mentorship-based grant program, which awarded over $23K in grants and services to creative businesses.
