Strong As Silk is a love letter to my younger self — the version of me who could never imagine wearing a hanbok. Shot in spring 2022, during a surge of anti-Asian hate tied to the COVID-19 pandemic, the photo series was a reclamation of the spaces that shaped my early understanding of what it meant to be Asian American.
